Many teeth whitening systems require a special light to activate the whitening gel, but this method is different. Opalescence is chemically activated. This means all it has to do is be applied to your teeth and in less than an hour, you'll have a whiter smile!
Opalescence whitening gel penetrates your tooth enamel to break up stains through its active ingredient, carbamide peroxide, which contains a 1:3 ratio of hydrogen peroxide. Carbamide peroxide breaks down to hydrogen peroxide, the actual bleaching agent that eliminates stains from your teeth.
Opalescence whitening gel is available in multiple concentrations, ranging from 10%, 15%, 20%, and 35%. All concentrations will achieve the same brilliant results over time, but Dr. Annicchiarico will recommend the best fit for you based on your goals and particular oral environment.
